The Zhytomyr Community Fund team learned an unusual story of an internally displaced family with 10 foster children.6 girls and 4 boys aged 7 to 15 are being raised by Margarita and Ihor, who moved to Singury, Zhytomyr district, this year.In 2022, their family-type orphanage was evacuated from Sloviansk, Donetsk Oblast, to Germany. For 11 months, the large family lived abroad, but the children could not adapt there and returned to Ukraine. In the Zhytomyr region, Christian believers helped them find housing and settle down.

In Kharkiv region, the number of internally displaced persons continues to grow. At the beginning of March, there were approximately 470,000 IDPs in the region. Today, according to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, there are already 505,000. Most of them are families with children from Kharkiv, Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

Sprouts of Goodness continues to give children from IDP families joy and solace
Every week, specialists work with the children, the youngest of whom is 3 years old and the oldest is 15, using psychological techniques, creative exercises and activities (drawing, applique, modeling, sand animation, fairy tale therapy, theater therapy, etc.) to gradually help children and teenagers overcome the impact of war and difficult life circumstances on their mental health.
