The Zhytomyr Community Fund team learned an unusual story of an internally displaced family with 10 foster children.
6 girls and 4 boys aged 7 to 15 are being raised by Margarita and Ihor, who moved to Singury, Zhytomyr district, this year.
In 2022, their family-type orphanage was evacuated from Sloviansk, Donetsk Oblast, to Germany. For 11 months, the large family lived abroad, but the children could not adapt there and returned to Ukraine. In the Zhytomyr region, Christian believers helped them find housing and settle down.
Margarita Antipchuk said that their children study online at the Slavic School because there is no educational institution in the village where they currently live.
The couple has two adult daughters. The younger one is a student. The older one, Kateryna, who has three children of her own, is also raising seven foster sons and daughters aged 3-14 in the orphanage with her husband.
Initially, two families of 24 people lived in Singury in one house, sleeping wherever they could, even on the floor. But soon they moved to separate houses.
Margarita and Ihor's family of 10 children has a lot of needs and problems. We are glad that we were able to help them solve some of them by providing humanitarian support.
