How to effectively develop philanthropy in local communities?
One of the principles is to create a network. This is exactly how our organisation, which includes 15 local community foundations operating on the principles of Community Foundations, works.Our organisation strives to disseminate the best practices of philanthropy and create modern forms of civic engagement. We achieve our goal through the services we provide to our members:Empowerment and Care.This includes a number of activities to support the development of community foundations. We provide grant support, and provide specialised and narrowly focused trainings at the request of foundations. The network facilitates the exchange of experience of community foundations (as well as youth initiative banks) outside of Ukraine.

What #ShiftThePower means to us
To #ShiftThePower community and international auditory, We are the National Network of Local Philanthropy Development, a Ukrainian community foundation support organization working on shifting the power in Ukraine through working with international funders to advocate the localization process. We had a chance to participate in.For Ukraine, ShiftThePower is about surviving. At present, we are dependent on international aid - humanitarian, economic, and military. Shift The Power for us is to have global solidarity, considering our context and respect for our fight for independence and democratic values. For sure, it's also about local resources. And in the past two years, Ukrainians have collected 2,3 billion US dollars only with cash just for supporting our military. But we are in a media world where you can pay to create any type of news. What Russia does is pay a lot to some social opinion leaders who are not local communities but have the recognition and power to influence bigger donors, states, and people's mindsets in other countries. So, shifting the power is about amplifying and investing in the voice of locals.

Results of the humanitarian project for November!
In early November, we launched a humanitarian project together with ShelterBoxDuring the month, our foundations actively distributed humanitarian aid in their communities, which was received by about 1700 families.

"Philanthropy unites generations" was the key slogan for our annual conference, which brought together more than 80 participants.
The conference is a place where we analyze and reflect on a year of active work.After all, our network unites 15 Community Foundations and 9 Youth Initiative Banks that raise resources and develop local philanthropy in their communities. During the year, we implemented many projects that promote philanthropy at the local level.

Support Ukraine during Giving Tuesday
During full-scale invasion Russia fully destroyed 144 medical institutions in Ukraine. Also more than 1000 hospitals are damaged and require significant funds for restoration. Ukraine's medical system is under intense pressure as a lot of hospitals are destroyed and hundreds of Ukrainians are exposed to daily shelling.

"We want to stay in Ukraine": exchange of experience of Youth Banks of Initiatives of Ukraine and Italy
The Italian youth look surprised. "But you have a war in your country. It's dangerous there. Are none of you planning to go to other countries?" All the Ukrainians shake their heads in the negative. We explain: "We need to rebuild the country after the victory. There is a lot of work to be done. No one will do it for us." Almost 2 days of traveling one way. 8 hours on the border with Poland. A lot of transfers: trains, buses, a plane over the Alps. All in order to introduce Ukrainian and Italian teenagers from Youth Initiative Banks (YIBs) to each other. The YIB model works in 32 countries. This is the first experience of an international meeting for our teams.
