On February 24, Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. The aggressor, violating all international conventions, continues to cause significant damage to the critical infrastructure of our country. The health care infrastructure, which is important for preservation of life and health of Ukrainians, has been significantly affected.
According to the estimates of the analysts of the Ministry of Health, as of the beginning of September, the estimated cost of restoring the medical infrastructure, which suffered from the aggression of the occupying country, may be more than 38 billion UAH. The occupiers are practically shelling medical facilities with various types of weapons. According to the Ministry of Health, 927 medical facilities were fired, 127 cannot be restored. Also, 505 pharmacy objects located in residential buildings were damaged, 47 of them cannot be restored due to direct rocket hits.
Unfortunately, the active phase of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine continues, so the enemy continues to destroy our critical infrastructure, increasing the damage from its aggression, causing pain and suffering to Ukrainians.
To mitigate the consequences of infrastructural damage in the field of health care, the Special Fund "MedAid" functions to equip hospitals, social institutions, and residents of Ukraine with the necessary medical equipment, medicines, and means of emergency support for medical institutions.
Currently, the restoration and support of hospitals in the de-occupied territories of Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions is urgent. It is important to provide hospitals with medicines, generators and other related materials for their smooth operation.
