Ivano-Frankivsk will host an all-Ukrainian forum with the participation of experts from Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Slovenia.
Preliminary estimates say that the rate of warming in Ukraine exceeds global. According to the forecasts of the public organization "Ecodia", by 2100 due to rising sea levels will flood 35 Ukrainian cities, including: Odessa, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Mariupol. 6 cities will be completely flooded, including: Vilkove, Gola Prystan, Zatoka.
The world has already developed effective solutions, for example: the concept of "15 minutes", Paris. It is about transforming the city so that everything you need is within 15 minutes of walking or cycling. Thanks to this concept, people reduce greenhouse gas emissions and, consequently, reduce the negative impact on climate change.
Therefore, the organization "Warm City" brought to the forum representatives of the city hall from Sweden and Poland, experts in the circular economy from Germany, Slovenia and the Netherlands to find and build a system that most effectively solves the problems of Ivano-Frankivsk and, potentially, other cities.
To date, Teple Misto and the Dutch organization Metabolic, with the support of the Renaissance Foundation, have conducted research and developed a vision of how to make Frankivsk business apply the principles of the circular economy. The innovation center Promprylad.Renovation has already started to do this, which can become a prototype for other centers (trade, research, innovation) in Ivano-Frankivsk and other cities of Ukraine.
