Meeting for Change is a networking event where local organizations can meet new partners for their projects. The networking takes place in the format of a "world cafe": international organizations and donors take seats at tables marked with their organizations' logos, and local organizations can approach and talk to their potential partners in a free manner.
We launched this format of the event in October 2023. At that time, the first Meeting for Change in Kyiv brought together about 60 local organizations and 15 representatives of donors and international NGOs. We saw how live communication helps to reduce the distance between participants. Today, we already have several success stories where organizations that met at the first event are now jointly implementing grant projects.
Thus, Meetings for Change has become another of our tools for localizing international resources in Ukraine. We believe that successful localization has a broader meaning than obtaining as many international grants as possible for local organizations. We aim to encourage equal long-term relationships where you can communicate freely with your international partners.
In 2024, we were able to make the events regular with the support of Global for Community Foundations. Also, we are grateful to have the support of Caritas Ukraine, Cash Collaborative Delivery Network, Right to Protection, and the Humanitarian NGO Platform in Ukraine as partners at some events.
We are now holding regional Meetings for Change. Registration for international partners is open throughout the entire time by following the link. We ask local organizations to follow the opening of registration in our social networks or on this page.
Who is the event for?
- Your organization has ideas for projects that solve current problems and contribute to the further development of civil society in your community
- You believe that local organizations should communicate openly with international partners about their needs and ideas
- You are interested in finding long-term partnerships
- You would like to share the peculiarities of work in your region that you think are not talked about enough
How does the event work?
The event takes place throughout the day, usually from 10:00 to 17:00. All organizations are registered and access to the event is by individual invitation only.
The event is distinguished by panel discussions and Local Talks https://philanthropy.com.ua/news/view/so-take-local-talks, short speeches from local organizations about the peculiarities of working in the region, successful cases of cooperation, problems in their field, etc. Any of the participants can become a speaker, all you need to do is answer the questions in the registration form so that the organizers can better understand your profile and the topics you can be invited to speak on.
The second part is networking in the world café format for three to four hours, when representatives of local organizations communicate with representatives of donor organizations.
