We are pleased to announce that the team of the National Network for the Development of Local Philanthropy is one step closer to creating a new fund. The team processed the data collected during online and offline work together with representatives of Ukrainian NGOs.
Less than 1% of humanitarian contributions were transferred directly to local and national NGOs in Ukraine. This is stated in the report on local humanitarian activities in Ukraine for November 2022 (research commissioned by DEC).
The Common Fund is being created to ensure that more humanitarian contributions are transferred directly to Ukrainian NGOs, as they know best how to help effectively on the ground. Its goal is to provide flexible funding for humanitarian and recovery projects, in accordance with the requests of Ukrainian NGOs
80 NGO representatives from all over Ukraine worked together to develop the current purpose of the fund, as well as the format and system of the grant program. The fund will have a mechanism for rapid response in case of emergencies and will also support projects on a regular basis.
We have created a document describing the Ukrainian NGOs' Common Fund, which will be launched in mid-February 2024.
