Did you know that concrete absorbs solar heat and delays exhaust emissions from many cars, leading to a general increase in daytime temperatures, increased levels of air pollution resulting from diseases such as heat cramps, rashes, sunstroke and others?
This glaring fact speaks to the importance of knowing and analyzing the spaces in which we live and what they are made of. Because just as food affects our well-being, so do the materials that make up the infrastructure of urban spaces affect the ecosystem in which we live.
Therefore, the WARM CITY together with MetaLab conducted another study in Ivano-Frankivsk entitled: “Circular design in the public spaces of Ivano-Frankivsk. Analysis and strategies for the use of materials. This study aims to address gaps in knowledge and understanding of the properties of materials typically used in public spaces - concrete, metal, wood - and to promote the use of those that are more sustainable and in line with the principles of the circular economy.
It contains much more similar facts and information that will be useful for public and private customers of public spaces, as well as architects, designers and engineers who develop similar projects.
