Cooperation of the Kharkiv "Toloka" Community Foundation with the Ukrainian Association of Publishers and Book Distributors continues.
This is a program under which "Toloka" accumulates funds to support the staff of Ukrainian publishing houses and bookstores.
Due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the book industry has suffered great losses, the book sales market has shrunk by 90%, and only 32% of domestic publishing houses can fully operate. As of May, 86 publishing houses and bookselling enterprises have applied for help to the Ukrainian Association of Publishers and Book Distributors .
Financial assistance has already started coming in from the Thai Publishers Association and the German Publishers and Booksellers Association. The Supervisory Board of the created Ukrainian Association of Publishers and Book Distributors has developed a regulation according to which the funds involved will be distributed. First of all, those participants of the publishing market who were in the combat zone and suffered will receive help.
