In recent years, the level of ethno-national tolerance has been stabilizing in Ukrainian society. However, the tendencies that determine the presence of various manifestations of xenophobia, racism and intolerance in society have not been resolved. The Berezani Community Foundation considers it important to build effective communication and intercultural dialogue in the communities of Berezani and Baryshivska TG, by educating tolerance in the younger generation, overcoming xenophobia and racism.
September 9 and 10 in three educational institutions of Berezanskaya TG (Sadivska Secondary School, Yabluneva Secondary School and Berezansky Vocational Agricultural Lyceum)
and two educational institutions of Baryshivska TG (Baryshivska NVK and Korzhivska ZOSH)) held tolerance lessons within the project "Intercultural dialogue and tolerance the way to understanding in the community", implemented by the NGO "African Council in Ukraine" and NGO "Community Foundation for Berezani" financial support from the British Council in Ukraine and organizational support from the Berezan City Council, the Baryshivka Village Council and the Kyiv Regional State Administration.
The Vice-Consul of Guinea and the President of the African Council in Ukraine Issa Sadio Dialo together with Alla Novikova, the Chairman of the Board of the Berezani Community Foundation, conducted tolerance lessons, showed the young generation that national or visual communication is not important in communication and social communication. human qualities, because we must respect everyone. Theodorina Kamis-Wawrik conducted an interesting and informative quiz on Africa, namely its traditions, climate and culture, inspired young people to new achievements, telling about people who have always gone to their goal and achieved success. Each event ended with an enchanting fashion show and a master class in African dance.
During the event, there was an interesting meeting at Sadivska Secondary School with Uk Dara Chan, a Ukrainian artist of Cambodian origin; public figure, teacher; President of the Kyiv Regional Federation of Taekwondo ITF, instructor of the International Class and holder of the black belt VI Dan. Bronze medalist of the World Taekwondo Championship among veterans. There were also working meetings of representatives of the NGO "African Council in Ukraine" and NGO "Berezani Community Foundation" with Ruslan Khrul, Deputy Mayor of Berezany, Alexander Varenichenko - Baryshivka village head, Nadezhda Slukhai - Secretary of Baryshivka village council, Dmytro Nasto for further cooperation.
